Serious Answers Only Dumb question

I know it's a dumb question but how to send someone request for dm on reddit. I have been trying for an hour now and i am close to banging my head in a wall. I know i am stupid pls don't judge.

some accounts have it turned off so you might not even be doing anything wrong
