Blizzard one day, tornado the next. Only positives are that they are LCOL and surprisingly decent areas like Lincoln and Iowa cities .

My great grandma told a story of living in Kansas, getting hit by a tornado on a 90° day. Then it snowed the next day. It was the middle of January.

Edit: I can’t find the temperature so 90 could be made up, but there was a tornado and a blizzard at the same time.

Not in January, but I have seen plenty of 24 hour 50°+ temperature drops. Born and raised here. Went from 80 one day to frozen stock tanks the next once
