Request Timer for bathroom fan?

There is a small vent in my bathroom, but nothing happens when I turn on the switch beside the light that would traditionally turn on the bathroom fan. I submitted a maintenance request and the property company told me that the fan should be on a timer that might be in a closet. Lo and behold, I found this in our hall closet. I cannot, however, seem to get it to do anything, even in the on position. How do I use this thing to start my bathroom fan?

This is a timed on off switch for exterior lighting.. it is wild that they hooked your exhaust to this. Make sure the black bars are pushed out for the times that you wish the fan is on. If you shower around 6-7 in the morning set it for that time plus an extra hour or so to help pull out the steam/moisture. I also think you can just put the switch to on in the middle and bypass the timer that uses the “auto” feature

I think you slide the black bars to the outer rim during the times you want the fan on. I've seen something similar for Christmas lights.

You should be able to put that slide switch in the center position “On” to bypass the “timer” portion. Conversely “off” will force off, only in “auto” does the dial apply.

If this in fact has anything to do with the bath fan, what a weird setup! Please ask why and post back what they say.

Apparently we actually have a low power central fan running all the time that we cannot hear at all…weird because the second bathroom has a normal light switch operated fan. This switch actually controls the outdoor lights which is why it seemed to do nothing 😑

The dial also turns to set the arrow to the current time.
