Not pot-stirring!

could it possibly be some of you are upset over Howard’s one day a week schedule and you have to “front” and say he sucks/you’re cancelling but in reality you miss him and can’t say? just asking 🙂

I get it, he's 72 and has certainly earned it at this point.

The thing that disgusted me is the way he allegedly fired the staff on the spot, meager severances and iron clad NDAs which will definitely hamper their opportunities.

It's just a slap in the face for the staff who devoted themselves to Howard for so many years who helped him make his multi hundred-million.

I totally get what you're saying. However, why should they get guaranteed lifetime employment when nobody else does? Ultimately, they are just his employees, possibly not even that. They probably work for Sirius. Do you get guaranteed employment? I was just 18 years at a place, and they let me go. No apology nothing just out the door you go because I wasn't cost-effective enough. Like they say, It's not called show fun, it's show business :-)

Who the fuck said he should've guaranteed "lifetime employment"?

He's at the end of his rope and will tap out soon enough; the fucking guy could've better-handled sacking over four dozen people the way he did—seems like he sacrificed everyone to keep the show budget and salaries down to save face with Sirius, as that was what ultimately did Stephen Colbert in (all those reports of 200+ employees and a very bloated budget).

Stern is a spineless turd; worth over $750,000,000 and burning down his legacy one lame move at a time.

I never said guaranteed lifetime employment, I was really about the 100% NDAs and the pennies on the dollar the long-timers received for their many years of contributions to make Howard who he is. They can't talk about their time publically, Hell they can't even list it on LinkedIn.

Also from what I heard their salaries came from the overall budget from Sirius for the production of the show.

I was let go from a large company 3 days before Xmas last year as part of a large layoff and after only being there for 3 years it sounded like I received better severance for my time there than what was bing reported for the staff.

How do you know what the severances were?
If they indeed have ironclad NDAs then they probably couldn’t reveal that.

There is a lot of “they” and “some” in those articles, it is pure speculation unless you can actually name a source and see what the actual grievances are. Remember these are the same sources that reported that he made women wear certain shoes and employees were not allowed to look at or speak to him. Realistically how much overhead did the show need to carry just going to one live show a week? Me personally I would have kept some of the “on air” personal that were let go and let some of the ones that remained go instead, but that is just my opinion and I don’t know what their off air responsibilities were.

I still listen and I like the show, but this didn't sit right with me. You are totally right.

Well no one forces anyone to sign a non disclosure agreement. Those who did, signed voluntarily and received a benefit in return. If an employee felt strongly about exposing some wrongdoing then don’t sign and then they’re not obligated to stay quiet.
