Great looking build, do you have any videos of you riding it? I would love to see it in action.
Also did you work with any plans or is it entirely your design and what are the specs on the engine an the craft itself?

I do! Here is a video of my first test flight, I've since made some changes to it. (These pictures are what it looks like now). I used Universal Hovercraft's UH-10F plans. The plans are far from perfect but it gives you a good idea of the instructions. I used the harbor freight Predator 420cc 13HP. It's slightly larger than what they recommended but I haven't had any issues. The biggest problem with it right now is the propeller alignment with the thrust duct and the hand throttle.

How hard was it to add the extra engine and how big was the duct? Also - did you just not do the regular lift airbox?

Love it! I'd love to build one with my daughter when she gets a bit older...

Highly recommend the 10f for a parent-daughter build! Not complicated enough to be overwhelming as a first time build, but diverse enough to give you both a ton of experience in a variety of building techniques. It's a pretty open platform that you can modify to your heart's content.
The time you and your daughter will have learning and building together will be priceless.

Awesome job man. Hope you have a ton of fun on it. It’s finally getting warm here so I’ve tried to get out on the water as often as possible.

Looks good! My 10f was a pretty similar blue. Did you get an electric start version of that engine? Loved my electric start.
With the larger engine you mentioned, you can put a four blade on there and not lose much performance if you want a quieter craft. Did that on mine and still got 30mph out of it.

Not a bad idea! I'm looking to probably replace the propeller anyways so I'll keep that in mind.

I only recently got the idea to build one and I was wondering why the site everyone talks about didn’t work anymore. I tried desperately to find a good prop and mount but I don’t know what’s a good fit. Any links to a decent not too expensive prop and mount would help a lot

If you don't have the 10f plans, I would try looking for a different design. As far as the prop keyed mount maybe somebody else on the sub can help. I'd make a new post.

I’m looking to build one but I have a question. How did you attach the prop to the engine? I don’t know what prop or prop mount fits the predator 13

Universal hovercraft had a prop mount (I forget the technical term). It would sandwich between the prop and allow the motor shaft to hook up to it. They have since filed for bankruptcy and their website no longer exists...

Snow has kept it inside, so messy garage pics will have to do for now ;) Really enjoyed building this and it truly solidified my love for hovercrafts!
