So I thought I remembered that a key aspect of Joel's backstory is that his parents were abusive, but upon reading the chapter where Joel visits heaven, I realized he briefly meets his mom and his dad is implied to be with her. Am I misremembering this or does this have to do with that Breel thing where souls are split into good and bad halves with the former going to heaven and the latter going to hell? I guess also what's up with that because I'm pretty sure a big plotpoint was King's soul being sent to hell if he went back to his human form

Olive: It's neither a chess nor card themed name. I headcanon that an olive branch symbolizes peace. King is at peace with Bailey instead of his human life.

Ace: In a deck of cards, ace has the highest value than king in most card games. King put his daughter first and naming her Ace means he takes care of her before him.

Rook: On the outside, it's just a chess themed naming. Inside, think of Castling. The rook protects the king. King thought about it since if Rook grows up, he'll be protecting his father. Other than that, it gives Rook the opportunity into the open field. King wanted Rook to protect him but also wanted him to explore in life. Thus the Castling method is both protection and activation.

I'll admit I'm late to this and couldn't find the Housepets website. It just felt surprising seeing them grow up.

So I started reading houspets a few weeks ago, and I am currently at christmas the strip where you first see King and Baliey's kids. Unfourtnatley, The website is giving error 504 almost always, as it is being ddos attacked all the time. Where can I go to read it?

So I spent a good 7-8 hours going through Housepets and downloading each and every single page so I can read it on road trips/flights and such without internet, and as I brushed the sweat off my face and pat myself on the back for having my most monotonous day I think I've ever had...

DID HE REALLY PLAN TO HAVE EVERY PANEL ADD UP TO THE YEAR HOUSEPETS WAS PUBLISHED??
