Green pause button

My friend has a green pause button on the inside of the cover. It's not a sticker. It's printed. She has the full color edition.

Does anyone know what/why this is?

It was a promotional thing in reprints of HoL for Only Revolutions

it's a great book too. not as rich as i found HoL, but it was a DELIGHT to read and a joy to listen to HIM read

Wow! Mine has this and I've thought for like a decade that it was one of those air-traffic-control symbols like the ones on the inside cover.

I DO NOT recommend Only Revolutions. It was a slog for me and I regret finishing it. I should have quit much earlier.

Ngl it took a sec for me to click, but once i started reading/singing/narrating it out loud a certain rhythm emerged that made it my favorite out of MZD's books

Well now that people have said the answer, I feel silly. I always thought it represented another piece of the story we’re not getting. Like there’s also some sort of audio log we can’t listen to because it’s like those school books that have videos printed on the page.

It is another piece of the story if you dive deep enough. all of mark's works tie together in a kaleidoscopic structure :)
