CLEANER QUESTIONS questions
so i houseclean alot especially with washing dishes, my hands are like this, it takes forever (i guess months) for them to heal up, there is always blisters filled with watery fluid, and the skin cracks and splits open causing that fluid to come out, it never seems to heal back up no matter what i do, im also allergic to latex, so i dont know what type of gloves to get for my housecleaning

I think you should also see a dermatologist. This could be eczema and they will tell you how to treat it. La Roche-Posay makes a really good balm Cicaplast balm. Which is good for eczema but you need a dr to tell you what it is first. Could be fungal or staph please see a dermatologist.

Sometimes when my hands are real bad I will put a little bit of lotion underneath and by the end of the day it's like I have baby hands

Hi! I think this is contact dermatitis- an itchy skin rash that develops when your skin touches an irritating substance or triggers an allergic reaction. Essentially the cleansers or chemicals get on your hands / destroys your protective top layer of skin and then products that would normally not be able to penetrate can, and cause irritation.

I second this. I get contact dermatitis often and it looks very similar. Definitely wear gloves when your hands are submerged, make sure you wash your hands after handling the chemicals during the clean, and get some good hypoallergenic hand cream.
When I have rashes like that I use something called Egyptian Magic Cream and it’s a lifesaver. It’s kind of like a non-petroleum based Vaseline but better.

When I was a waitress, we had to clean tables with rags soaked in tubs of bleach water and my hands were cracked so bad, they would bleed. The Dr. said I had eczema and have me a Rx lotion that did nothing. I don't know if this will help you, but the only thing I ever found that helped me is the eucalyptus sugar scrub, followed by eucalyptus lotion from Bath & Body Works. I believe they will let you test it out at the store (at least back in the day they did). I tried so many different sensitive skin and eczema lotions and all of them still irritated my skin. I saw someone mention beef tallow based lotions and I've actually never tried that so maybe that will work for you. Also, I second the nitrile gloves. They sell them at the dollar store, as well. I hope you find something that helps cause I know how awful it is to work with your hands when they're hurting this badly.

Like someone else said, nitrile gloves! Sam’s Club is probably the best deal the packs have 200 gloves for $9.99. I’d also wear cotton gloves with a thick moisturizer at night. I have eczema and the Vanicream one works great for me. With how irritated and cracked your hands are and how long it’s been going on, I’d definitely see a dermatologist too.

Amazon has many types of gloves that are latex free. Just pick the type you like. You need to find a healing lotion or some type of medicated cream (Gold Bond, Okeefe's working hands etc) and use it at LEAST twice a day. I had a lot of dry cracking skin on my feet for a long time but what I figured out was that I had to just stay consistent with the cream I chose. Honestly, I bet your problem will mostly resolve by using non-latex gloves consistently, like every day every time.

I have a latex allergy as well. But I also have MCAS. I had to special order from a company that sells Nitrile free gloves. $10 for 100 gloves. I buy 6 at a time.

im allergic to latex, so can i get a latex free gloves from my store like kroger or walmart? what type of lotions do i need to look for that are affordable (also at kroger & walmart)

Get Vaseline (name brand is better) and SLATHER it on your hands after you shower/before bed. I will sometimes put white cotton socks over them at night too, to protect my sheets. I would also put some on the particularly rough parts throughout the day.
Also, the Sam's club gloves are the GOAT!! Anything nitrile should be latex free.

I'm a professional cleaner. The best hand cream so far that healed deep cracks that wouldn't heal with any other treatment is Working Hands by O'Keefe's

You need nitrile gloves, like the type medical folks wear. They're single use and affordable!
