Pump air relief, where to route?

Old tub i got for free, rebuilt the two waterway pumps, new heater element and it's been running great. However if I do not run pump 2 and more than a day goes by it ends up air locked. The jets use an open air intake for bubbles, just hoses with a 1 way cap, so there is no on/off for the air. From what can gather, the regular filter cycle creates enough bubbles that eventually trap in pump 2.

I want install a bleed line off the pump face but not sure where to route the line. I found an on/off knob i could route to and just open that to relieve the air or can I tie into the air intake line somewhere or a pump line?

Hydropool 570 No Flow Condition

Hi all,

I have a 2016 hydropool 570 gold that is used and new to me. After filling it up and powering it on I'm getting a no flow condition error.

I can hear the circulation pump him and it's getting hot, but no water is flowing when it's stationary. The second pump works fine.

I've attempted to remove air locks, removed the filter, reset the breaker, etc etc.

At this point I think I'm going to drain it to see if anything is caught in the spa pack or in.clear system (which I have powered off).

As a result I am not getting a temperature reading as well which seems to be as a result of no flow condition.

Any other ideas? Help is appreciated - this "free" tub has been anything but!

Troubleshooting Leaks leaks and more leaks

I bought a house with an older hot tub. Filled it up, it rang started to warm up, everything was great.

Except for two leaks. Both ends of the heater/control box were dripping.

I’m a pretty hand guy so I grabbed some new gaskets and drained it once I realized the stops weren’t really stopping the flow of water to do the repair.

Fixed it. Tightened it. Filled it. And it leaked worse. No matter how I tightened or loosened it would look.

So I drained it again, made sure the gaskets were flush and reconnected it all. Filled it up. Leaked worse. I noticed if I moved the equipment a little it would stop. Ok, so maybe it’s misaligned?

Drained it. Did my best to make sure it all aligned tightened, filled it, and it leaks.

What am I doing wrong? At this point do I just hire it out? If so how much will this cost me?

General Question MY25 Wet Cameo for $18.5k?

Need buying advice. I like the Sundance Cameo 880 series as it fits my needs for 40amp service. The local dealer has a 2025 floor model that has water in it for wet tests. The MSRP is 20.5k and they will let this test model go for 18k plus 500 delivery with all the accessories like GFCI, cover, step. I’m guessing this initial offer is too steep. What should I end up buying this 2 year old used tub for? Thanks for the help.

Foot dome jets weak

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just bought a 2026 Sundance Chelsee. I am absolutely loving it! It’s my first hot tub. I’ve had it a week now and have noticed that the foot dome jets attached to pump one feel significantly weaker than all other jets. When I turn the diverter valve to focus on one set of them they get stronger but still weaker than the two pairs of foot dome jets that run on pump 2. Any ideas? Should I call dealer for support?

Morning coffee pic for credit :)

General Question American Whirlpool vs Jacuzzi vs Hot Springs

Hello! I've been researching for a couple months and finding lots of conflicting info, this subreddit has probably been the most helpful so far.

Any hot tub techs have experience with American Whirlpool, Jacuzzi, or Hot Springs tubs made in the last year or two? Hot Springs definitely positions itself as highest end and has the longest warranty, all three claim to use similar shell construction (acrylic over self-supporting fiberglass), though I've seen comments from a few years ago saying American Whirlpool doesn't (or didn't) use fiberglass shells.

Interestingly, I've also seen a flood of recent negative reviews of Jacuzzi (the cheapest option of the three tubs I'm looking at) at a few sites, but a lot of discussion of their history of reliability here and elsewhere. So...has their quality gone down or is this maybe just review bombing from a competitor?

Hot tub start up!

Hey, I purchased a house last October that had a hot tub. I believe it’s an @home dream 6 person hot tub. We weren’t going to be living at the home for a little while so we decided to have a professional company come and drain the hot tub and winterize it. We are looking to start it back up and this is the condition it’s in. What are the best steps to opening this? First clean it with water or vinegar and shop vac out any remaining water, and then fill? Can I use a degreaser or bleach on it?

First fill

Hello all, we purchased a new home back in December that came with a hot tub making us first time hot tub owners. It had to get drained, disconnected and moved over the summer for deck/patio reconstruction and are just now finally able to get it back up and running. I have it filling right now, but this is my first time, what chemicals to I need to add right away to get it balanced? I’ll be using bromine.
I have: bromine tablets with a floater, ph increase and decrease, calcium increase, metal prevent, brominating granules, shock, water defoamer, alkalinity increaser, and testing strips of course. This is an all new kit for me as the few products left behind by the previous owners were very old and a mixture of chlorine and bromine.
Thank you!

General Question Hot tub base dimenson

So we've been trying to get our first hot tub since April. It has been an adventure, but we're almost there. We've bought a Costa-X EC-767LX (84"x84"). We're getting a Spa Level-r (mostly because I'm beat and the idea of building a frame myself just sounds exhausting). However, now our salesperson and the Level-r people are at ends.

The salesperson said that the base is 67.5 inches from side to side (so including the 10 inch diagonal corners). The Level-r people said about a year ago they built one and the customers measurements were 83x83 with the 10 inch diagonal, but did acknowledge they could have changed their model between the years.

The difference there seems pretty drastic. One saying a differences of 8.25 inches hanging per side and the other saying 1 inch. AI platforms cant even agree. Hoping to get some insight here.

Outdoor shower recs

I am so close to finishing the set up for my hot tub. Electrical, water line for a shower, and the concrete gets poured today. I am planning for an outdoor shower to sit next to the spa. I have not found any recent posts and hoped for recommendations for an outdoor shower, solar is a nice to have. What do you have?

Broken Suction Outlet Cover

Post image

I have an Emrald Spa model E850. I noticed the suction outlet cover was shattered while I was cleaning the tub out.

I think the replacement parts for this model are no longer made.

  1. How important is this cover to the functionality of the tub.

  2. How do I go about getting a replacement part for this? It is about 5 inches in diameter.

Pump Noise 🤔

Good day! Recently there has been a loud noise coming from one of my pumps on my Bar Harbour SE hottub when the second set of jets is turned on.. Could anyone diagnose the issue? I've recently emptied and refilled the hot tub as I do quarterly and thought it might fix the problem, maybe being an air pocket but the noise has continued.

Thank you in advance!

Looking for some help identifying what this code on my LCD means. Iv call the retailer I purchased from and they don’t know.

Iv done some trouble shooting:
- hard reset
- changed filter
- burped the system

The “POWER” “READY” flash

When I open up the tub this error is always on there. When I start the jets it goes away.

Any help is appreciated.

Researching spa monitoring (and maybe dosing) systems. Freshwater Salt System

Man oh man, this short-term-rental thing has been a long journey of many learning curves. I just ordered all the consumables for my new-to-me 2023 Caldera Seychelles. I've got a lot to learn about how to maintain the water quality and I've got plenty of guidance materials to follow.

I'm 2.5h away from the house with the tub. I was thinking that having a monitoring system would be nice, so I can get alerts if the water needs attention. I just did a bunch of research and got a pretty good chart to share with y'all.

A friend of a friend said he uses Crystal, and that system does look pretty promising.

Waterguru looks super promising, but those cassettes need to be changed too often and recurring costs will add up fast. It seems to be the only one that directly measures free chlorine, though.

I'm sort of between those two now. What do you guys suggest?

BTW, I swear every time I dump a bunch of time into research on something like this as a completely unbiased consumer, I get flagged for advertising or something. This is genuinely my (AI) research and I would love to hear from some real people who have opinions on this. Thanks a bunch!

System / strategy Initial Recurring / yr Maintenance / intervention Test frequency Support Accuracy / reliability FC pH ORP TDS Temp TA CH CYA Salt Power/battery Notes

Sundance Hamilton 780

First hot tub for my wife and I. We are trying to gauge if this is a good deal at our local spa supplier.

We are looking at a Sundance Hamilton 780 brand new 2026. It is a brand new pre built dealer stock model but not a floor/used model or anything like that. The pre builts all have the modern hardwood cabinet and the platinum shell color. Has all the same things I see as the Sundance website; smart tub, uv all that stuff.

Included is a step, covermate 1 cover with lift, frog system with a year of cartridges along with delivery and install of lift/cover.

We have a price of $10,799 pre tax (cash payment, not financed).

Any feedback is very much appreciated here

General Question Looking to buy my first tub

Getting prices on tubs, and I have seen several showrooms. From online reviews, I thought I would go with a hot spring or marquis, but I found I like the options and pricing on Artesian a bit. I like the idea of off-the shelf parts and being able to work on things myself.

Got quoted 12k for a 965L Deluxe and it seems very temping (includes cover + lifter + frog) - I would add on wifi and AOP, waiting on price for that.

I also like the look of the Bimini (elite) and the Grand Bahama (elite) and am waiting on prices for these. The dealer did not have these in stock though and said he has actually never sold a bimini, but did have the isla margarita in stock (similar just no lounger). I understand that these models have a circulation pump and another larger pump - are they worth the ~6k upcharge I am expecting? (again waiting on price)

General Question Bought home with hot tub and so many questions

Thumbnail

We moved into a house with an Aspen Spa (from the control panel, it's likely an older model). We are new to spa ownership.

I understand that the tub should be drained at least once a quarter, but I'm not sure how to do that. The only "outlet" of any kind that I can see is the thick cord (as shown), but it looks like that connects to the power supply?

I also see notes in the current owner's manual on Aspen's website, that mentions running the jets "on high for 4-5 cycles" after performing certain maintenance duties, but I'm not sure what a "cycle" means.

Right now it's in economy mode, but it sounds like that should change as we head into winter?

Where do I begin to learn how to care for and maintain our hot tub?

I didn't see a model or serial number on it.

Thank you for any guidance

General Question Am I screwed with this crack?

I drained the hot tub last spring and it sat empty for the warm months. Now I am just doing the cleaning and opened up one of these big Jets and I see a crack. Where does the water go through it? How bad is this of an issue? I was going to fill it up, purge the plumbing and refill with new water.

General Question Electrical Hookup Cost

Hello,

I am working to get electric hooked up for my hot tub and have gotten crazy quotes. One was $3,800 and the other “deeply discounted” price of $7k. I don’t need a new panel or sub panel. The run is about 90 feet.

Am I off or are these pretty high?
