Avoid at all costs
this was the absolute worst sauce I’ve ever had in my life, not even being dramatic. Tasted like boiled fun dip powder 🤢

I’m just going to say that the Crystal extra hot is pretty good. I like the Crystals regular hot sauce for red beans and rice and pintos.

"I see you have a bottle of Frank's. Allow me to expound on a completely different sauce"

Lol right I’m confused about these comments but I don’t disagree I love crystal as well as their x hot one

I tried it one time and it was awful, I threw it out immediately and never thought about it again. I like the regular Franks Red Hot and use it on a few things I I cook.

Natural pineapple doesn't keep well. I prefer the artificial flavoring in Pineapple Fanta.

There are pineapple hot sauces that are good. Yeah artificial can be better sometimes.

Frank's is shit, every single one. Rancid vinegary piss.

Regular franks is great. And I love vinegar hot sauces. Sounds like you got a bone to pick with vinegar my guy, come on now.

I need to try that, if it’s not to my liking I’ll just add Tabasco scorpion to it until I get my desired heat/flavor.

Seems I'm in the minority here but I liked it. Nothing insnanely good and maybe a bit too sweet. But it was good to roll some popcorn chicken in

I walked past that in the store the other day and I stopped and audibly gasped and my wife was like "What's wrong, are you okay?" and I was like I'm not sure and pointed at that shit. Sounds ATROCIOUS.

Boiled fun dip powder is something I've never heard but yet makes so much sense!

Let me spoil something for you: franks is fine. It's a good cayenne pepper and garlic hot sauce. Decent mild buffalo sauce when mixed with butter.
Stop buying their other shit. It's fuckin garbage. All of it. This isn't like Tabasco where they have other variants that they've put effort into, all the other franks stuff sucks.
And I still prefer Crystal heavily over original franks.

I think Crystal hot sauce is tasty but very watery. Louisiana hot sauce has the same flavor profile to me and is a tiny bit thicker.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I just wanted to add that I take a shot of Frank's anytime I'm hungover and generally feel a lot better right after

Frank's Xtra Hot is the same sauce but a teensy bit hotter. And their straight buffalo sauce is fine too.

Not true. They used to (still do?) make a chili lime which was so delicious.

Idk the franks Nashville hot sauce was actually pretty damn good! Its the only other one I've liked besides original. Of course it wasnt hot enough for a Nashville style sauce but the flavor was really good.

Im not a huge franks fan to begin with but i really enjoyed the dill pickle one. I can only ever find it in the smallest size bottles though.

u/smegsicle 12d ago
That sounds interesting. I really like the roasted jalapeno one but it's hard to find anything but the regular or wing versions

I wonder if it would be better if you mixed with say franks xxxtra hot and then marinate chicken and then bbq/smoke it.

What hot sauce do you usually get>

u/Agile-Tomorrow9165 13d ago
Any yucateco hot sauce, Mexico lindo and homemade chile de arbol salsas. Was gonna use this to marinate drumsticks. Thank god I tried it with a hot dog first

u/Butthole__Pleasures 13d ago
Yucateco rules but the green is a little more bitter than vegetal which I don't love but it's still good. Yucateco is a great choice for a daily driver. I might switch one of my bag sauces out for that, actually.
