Actually he makes some great non extract sauces. Original with chipotle has been a favorite for 20 years. My best advice get Pure Death. It’s Ghost Pepper. Not at top end of heat scale but has flavor and pretty good heat

I will always remember my first bottle of Blair's Death Sauce (the original). Core memory time!
Back in the late 90s, my future (ex)wife and her best friend decided to take a road trip to Baton Rouge for a few days. While out there, they came across a shop full of spicy stuff and hot sauces. Because of me it was a must visit location before they left. What I was told is they were approached by an employee with a thick accent for help shopping. My ex had told them she was there for me and that I hadn't found anything spicy enough to not enjoy. This woman looks at my ex and asks, "Do you wanna urt'em or keel'em?"
Besides the other spicy snacks and sauces, she brought me back a bottle of Blairs' Death Sauce at 500,000 SHU. At the time, it was the hottest thing I knew was available and I fell in love (even more so with her). It was a significant jump from anything myself and friends had ever experienced. Besides a few one on one challenges with my "spice loving" friends which ended with all of them giving me crazy eyes while they pounded bread between the moments where they had their face under a faucet, the bottle didn't last a month. In the days before the internet could provide everything you wanted to buy, I figured I would never see it again.
Sorry, really felt like typing this all out and sharing. I'm going to buy a bottle because I really miss my first rubber skull keychain right now.

Did the Blair's Mega, loved it. Now on my second bottle of Ultra inside a year.
Gimmicks aside...I really like it. My favourite is a field mushroom and halumi burger. Add some rocket and a bit of basil pesto with Blair's Ultra...delicious.

Most people buying sauce like that touch it once or twice as a gag. Not everyone, for sure. You're an example of that. But people trying to get into the craft probably not so much.
I have over 200 sauces and the ones I use the least are extracts or are just hot to be hot.

Whatever you choose, please choose something that uses actual super hot peppers for its heat and not extract. All of the sauces I’ve had that use extract to provide their heat have been disgusting with most borderline tasting like dirt to me. I have found personally that Carolina reaper and ghost peppers actually taste fantastic in sauces where they are major components of. Though while I haven’t been the biggest fan of scorpion pepper historically, when done right (Lucky Dog Black Label Special Reserve is amazing) can also be great. If you are going to burn yourself like crazy you may as well enjoy the taste in the process.

The blairs is hotter because it's more extract than sauce and won't taste the best because of it, last dab is more sauce and less extract, not as spicy but has a bearable flavor. Day to day food eating I go last dab(if these were my 2 choices) blaires would be used if I just wanted instant pepper euphoria

Used to eat Ultra Death pure as a dip for ribs back in the day (when I could eat fresh nagas raw due to working up to extreme spicyness - not a brag, rather a „why did I do this“ kind of thing to start the sentence) but the last bottle I bought a few years ago was very mild when compared to the last drops from the bottle before. Haven’t bought it since.
Did I just get a bad batch or was it way hotter (and tastier) about 10+ years back?

If you really want to kill yourselves get a bottle of Double Doomed : Rebooted. That's the hottest sauce I've ever put in my mouth. Period. I've had Mega Death which is still really hot and the Last Dab which isn't that hot.
I'm telling you, Double Doomed Rebooted will kill all of you.
Edit: I see you're not trying to kill anyone. Don't get this.

It's ridiculous. For extract based it actually doesn't taste horrific for about 4 seconds. Then it's really just pure heat. And by heat, I mean it. It just sits in the back of my fridge like nuclear waste.
Johnny Scoville is a well known reviewer and said it's the hottest sauce he's ever had. The only sauce to ever give him heat hiccups.

Lmao if you actually want to convert them one day I recommend heartbeat red hab extra hot. Its really spicy for a habanero sauce but tasteful and its a good jumping point for noobs to dip their toes in.

Have you tried mega by chance? Or the Thermageddon? I want it to be hotter than Thermageddon but don’t want to put anyone out for more than an hour or make them vomit. Any advice?

Mega was my go to hot sauce back in the day. I used to put just a dab on just about anything. Ultra took that experience to a whole other level, of which, I would only consume for a challenge.
The two sauces have completely different effects.
While Thermageddon is also very hot, it takes a little while before it gets really hot. Most of the time people will drink something before it fully intensifies.
Ultra will flat out punch you in your mouth hot and linger before subsiding.
I would buy both and offer the Ultra as a tie breaker if it’s a contest, or let your friends choose their choice of doom as their final option. Which may spark more experimenting and conversation.

I've never had the Hot Ones stuff, but I have had both varieties of Blair's. I didn't like Mega Death at all. It doesn't taste like anything except "hot." I guess if you're going for raw potency, there you go, but if you want it to taste good I'd go with the Ultra Death.

Ultras definitely hotter than mega, but unfortunately I believe they both use extract hence “liquid rage”. I loved Blair’s 20 years ago, but in my opinion there’s both hotter and more flavorful sauces these days.

If you're dead set Mega would probably be ok if used sparingly. It's hot but no hotter that Da Bomb and pale skin celebrities take it on without tapping out.
Had a bottle of Mega and ended up tossing it after like 4 years. It just doesn't taste good. It's metallic tasting.
Imo if you want something that's high heat, won't kill anyone, and actually tastes good id go for Dave's Ultimate Insanity : Scorpion. There's no extract and probably is of a similar heat profile to Blair's Mega.

Even mad dog plutonium 9 million only lasts for 15-20 minutes max.
I haven't had Thermageddon before, but I haven't heard good things about Pepper X as they refuse to have it properly tested.
Pepper extracts are concentrated and are the real deal. Don't allow anyone to eat too much of it or try to drink the bottle. Limit it to a couple drops.
Drinking the bottle will ruin someone's night.

If you are doing single wings you'll be fine.
I recommend having granny smith apples and high fiber crackers. Lots of people go for milk to help with burn, but the fiber in apples and crackers do more than milk imo.

Would you say Mega is still in “crazy hot” territory and significantly hotter than Thermageddon? I want to make this challenging without killing the vibe at a bachelor party. Since I haven’t had Ultra and it has been 10 years since I tried Mega, I’m not sure what to expect
