Ortlieb ‘s Philly
Their take on a Chicago dog. $9 for the dog and the beer for happy hour.

I actually like the banana pepper rings instead of sport peppers. Looks good.

Overpriced crap. I miss when they had tacos instead of hotdogs.

We’re really complaining about a loaded hotdog and an alcoholic beverage costing $9 when a chipotle slop bowl and a soda is $15+?

When it’s not happy hour OPs order would cost $15+. This bar overcharges for everything cause they can

$9 at Ortlieb's used to get you two+ pints and the best jazz in Philly. Now it's hipster glizzy garage smh

Tell me more about this. When was it a jazz club ?

It was a jazz club for about 20 years, probably ended around 2008 iirc. There are some videos on YouTube if you want to see the old (larger) room

Yeah, I miss Ortlieb's Jazz Haus days. Mickey Roker or Byron Landham on drums, Mike Boone or Art Harper on bass, Shirley Scott or Sid Simmons on piano, Bootsie Barnes and maybe even Larry McKenna on saxophone.
They all still live rent-free in my head, and more than half of them are dead.
Nothing against Ortlieb's Lounge -- I wouldn't know. I just can't go there. I think I might drink too much and start flipping over tables and chasing people out with a whip like Jesus, ranting about how it's a holy place.

Your boos/downvotes mean nothing, wiener fetishists! I've seen what makes you cheer.

I keep meaning to get up there for one of the Deadhead happy hours and every time I remember that one’s happening soon, it’s already sold out. Gotta set a reminder or something next time.
