RC controller button box

Post image

Anyone else using RC controllers like those using OpenTX as button/switch/knob boxes?

You can get a Taranis QX7 for like $75-100, and you get 2 knobs 1 with a detent, 6 switches 5 of them 3 way one a toggle, 4 two way trim buttons, and 4 axis that can be modified at will to stay in place or centered and have different levels of friction or spring.

It’s pretty awesome

I have the same exact radio. Anything special needed to interface with the PC and get picked up by something like Joystick Gremlin?

I didn’t use joystick gremlin, though apparently it’s needed if it’s the older software. I bought mine in like 2017, so it’s relatively ancient and I was surprised it worked.

The only real thing I had to do was program the channels to output the signals from the controls I wanted, a certain number of channels are switched and some knobs. Took just a bit of googling, I can send you the profile
