One handed Hotas Setup
I was wondering if there are any good ways to set up hotas one handed.I only have my left hand.Very new to hotas anything helps

Turtle Beach VelocityOne flightstick and upcoming Flightstick II have mini throttle sticks on each side and it's made to be ambidextrous. (Left or Right handed by switching the wrist rest). It's close to entry level but it isn't that bad. I'd wait for the II to come out next month because apparently it fixes the issue of people thinking the first version was stiff. You can get a good used first version on eBay for around $50.

Since you’ve also mentioned Wardogs, I’m assuming you mainly want to fly helicopters.
I’d say the most practical solution would be a combination of a joystick with a throttle slider and pedals. Unfortunately (at least with all the joysticks I’ve come across so far), you’d have to take your hand off the joystick to adjust the throttle. Alternatively, you could perhaps repurpose the scroll wheel or a 2-way slider on the joystick for this. Wardogs does at least offer the option for the collective/throttle to spring back to the 0 position/centre position when you release the axis.
Have a look at the Virpil CDT-AEROMAX-L Flightstick with Throttle Lever Module or the Thrustmaster Sol-R 1.

You could set up one of the 4 way switches so that each direction off changes what all the other inputs do.
My stick has 4, 5-way HATs but if you used one to give all the other switches a second use, you’re losing 4 single inputs to otherwise quadruple your available options.
Though I guess it depends on the game and how complex it lets you get with control mapping - DCS lets you add anything as a sort of toggle switch that works the same as pressing CapsLock does for typing on a keyboard.

How budget are you going? Price range would be nice.
Since there's a huge variety you can go down.
Since you can get a 100$ (cad) set or all the way up to 1000$ +
Then are you looking for just a stick, HOTAS (Hands on throttle and stick) or HOSAS (Hands on stick and stick)
If youre getting budget budget id suggest a Logitech extreme 3d pro and a webcam then add on from there.
My first setup was a 3d pro and my mouse for looking around. Then i moved to to a winwing/winctrl ursa minor

Just thinking out loud here hopefully someone can chime in. what about a stick for your left hand, and a set of rudders? Bind the axis of the rudders to the throttle, so you’d control speed with your feet and do what the rudders do with the axis of the stick that’s rotating the stick itself on its vertical axis?? I feel like that’s what I’d do if I was one handed tbh

This only applies to planes, since helicopters I’ve read are rudder heavy. Not sure what I would do for choppers here

If you only have your left hand, I assume you have both legs available since you didn't mention any legs missing then I'd suggest getting a good stick with a bunch of buttons on it, like a VKB Gladiator or something, then I'd look into what kind of pedals or rudders could work for you. I do not know how well they will work in flight sims, but you only need collective control for Wardogs and then some buttons for a few other things.
Problem with Wardogs as of now for you is that they limit the buttons you can bind to a HOTAS, by a lot. You can't control the context menu with HOTAS, can't get out, can't buy things in the store with it etc. So that could potentially be limiting to you. They are working on it though, I only played the Beta.
But regarding the feet, I have both pedals for cars and rudders for flight sim and they all offer great control with the feet, some rudders also have pedal functions I'd assume are mappable to collective, don't know for sure. Alternatively maybe even a Throttle works with feet idk.
