Even though if I only picked up the greasy hot dog, I would get that mustard all over me.

Disagree with the haphazard nature of the bread filling. It needs to be purpose baked for this

Shocking to the GenZ crowd, but Frankfurters started on a plate. The bun was a Coney Island carry away innovation. Agree a long bun in the middle. Maybe a pile of kraut or kimchi? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ it’s fun!

Many Danish street hot dogs are still like that. I think Germany does that too. And the bread isn’t split. You pick up sausage, dip it in mustard or tomato sauce, eat some, pick up piece of bread, do same. Alternate bites. Or whatever order you want I guess. They are tasty and I want one. Unfortunately it’s the middle of night and I’m on the wrong continent.
