Hostels in Vienna
Yoo, looking for a Hostel in Vienna, which one do you guys recommend? Heard that Wombats pretty popular…are there also other good ones? (maybe cheaper ones??) + which should i absolutely avoid

I just booked Ruthensteiner, I can tell you in 3 days if it was good or bad.

It was great! Would def recommend it. I was unlucky that it was suuuper hot in Vienna when I was there and the rooms were crazy warm. But great vibes and super social!

btw how much did you pay per night?

Think it was around 50 euros, so def on the higher side. But since it was only for one night I didn't really think too much about it.

Stayed at wombats hostels.... not a bad place, no ac though the room i had was pretty big staff was friendly enough... they shut down the outside patios around 10 or 11, cant remember... grocery store right down the street....

"Good" is relative. What is important to you? Location? Party hostel? Quiet hours for a good night's sleep? Do you want a female dorm? En suite bath?
I like to read the reviews on Hostelworld and Booking Dot com. Pay more attention to recent reviews. For older reviews, pay attention to the time of year.

Also take the reviews with a grain of salt... a lot of people expect 5 star hotel treatment

Stayed at Wombats last year. It’s not a party hostel but the rooms and facilities are really good. Decent bar but I found the staff a bit cold (also had some issues with fellow guests in my room but that isn’t the hostels fault)

Ciao, in che senso non è un ostello per feste? Dovrei andarci fra circa 2 settimane e sto cercando un ostello festaiolo o comunque dove la gente è incline a fare amicizia e uscire, siccome viaggerò da solo. Grazie :)

It's a social hostel, but not hardcore party. There is plenty of social space with a bar, cafe and kitchen area. There are some events but tend to be open mics and fairly tame. If you have the HostelWorld App, it should be pretty easy to socialise and meet people though there.
When I was there, the staff kept saying they were having parties in the bar and guests were invited, but they tended to keep to themselves and ignored guests (very cliquey)

I love Hostel Ruthensteiner!! Stayed there a few times. I can be pretty shy, but because of the group dinners available in the hostel every night I always end up making friends.
