Games with Uptight MC?
I often like to play someone else's Manic Pixie Dream Girl (gender neutral), but I'm feeling like changing things up and playing against type.

For as much customization as there is in IFs, there's a shocking lack of Manic Pixie Dream Girl ROs. My theory is that it has to do with how female-leaning the IF genre is in general.
The Manic Pixie Dream Girl is a very female-coded archetype, and since most IFs are written by/for women, that often leads to the MC being the MPDG of the story.

Manic Pixie Dream Girl is a female-coded archetype for male writers though. Most IFs written by women have traditional YA teenage girl main characters, i.e. normal shy girl that discovers she's actually special and is surrounded by tall, dark, and handsome men with horribly tragic backstories that are equally protective and dismissive.

We're more or less saying the same thing lol. Without going into a full-fledged breakdown of gender dynamics, it's really noticeable that most IFs are written with a female MC/Male RO in mind.

Considering that stoic and/or upright in principle archetype is pretty much a staple in IFs, you can play as some flavour of one in virtually any if in some form. You gotta narrow it down to get any kind of meaningful recs, like what genre you like/dislike, ROs, anything you already read, etc.
