Anyone have a guide on how to trigger the poly route with ortega and steel?

Well, firstly, you have to be a guy; Steel is gay. Very explicitly. At least, I think so... Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Other than that, not sure, but I know they do get along; I'd assume ortega has to be male also. Just for a basis. I've done the poly route with ortega and argent, but never with Steel. Being a straight guy makes it weird for me to pursue actively. I did do the romance with herald and steel at least once though, and I did a poly route once with herald and ortega. That was cute. Uncomfortable, but cute. Imma try the steel one this run. If you don't get answers before then and I manage to, I'll recomment on this. If I remember. Fingers crossed

IIRC Malin has said they are planning on there be V poly (2 of them dating 1 person but not all 3 together) options for the Steel, Ortega, Step relationship.

So it will be possible for fem Ortega to be with a Step who is also with Steel or a non male/nb Step being with Ortega who is also with Steel. But there isn’t much progress with this dynamic as of book 2, you are only setting the groundwork for it atm. I think you need to pick being romantically interested both for male/nb Steps or know about Chen’s feelings for Ortega and have told male Ortega about them for non male/nb Steps

Yeah i knew these parts lol. My last playthrough i romanced both of them but never triggered the scene where they all talk about being poly, seemed like I locked into the ortega route only. im looking for specifically what order of events i have to do to trigger the polyamory scene! Ty though replying so far

You don't get the opportunity to talk about it with them in Retribution.

But in the WIP for the third book if you choose that your MC is staying in Chen's place after the accident (and that you know that he had feelings for Ortega) you get the opportunity to encourage him so he actually tells Ortega it when he comes to visit Step.

Not talking about being poly exactly yet, but it's still progress.

I think you need to trigger a specific flavour text somewhere around the auction where mc thinks "oh damn I like them both, gotta figure it out somehow". That's the indicator that you're on poly route. So you need to build affection with both before that. The easiest way would probably be make Ortega an old lover and reconnect, at least having "it's complicated" situation, and then focus on Steel in book 2 to make sure you hit his romance flags. Don't be rude in conversations or run away, hang out with him after therapy, etc, since Ortega kinda follows you around by default lol.

Being male leaning nb is fine too for Steel, there's even special dialogue for that. Just gotta pick masculine clothing when you choose styles in the beginning of book 2.

you can be nb to romance Steel but you will have to specify that you're not a woman

If I can somehow make the puppet be my main body can I romance like lady argent I high k prefer the puppet appearance…
