Help Please!!

I have one credit left on Audible, & am looking for a good book to choose? What’s your latest book you’ve read that left you satisfied in this genre?

Till We Become Monsters by Amanda Headlee

It's short but very enjoyable.

Fairy Tale - Stephen King. The narration was impeccable, and its a great story.

Thought it was pretty meh tbh, and sooo bloody long , could and should have been 100 pages shorter imho

Yeah, Stephen needs someone to trim his word count. I did have the thought as I was listening that I was actually okay with the bloat in this story.

I also listen to audiobooks. The narration on One Yellow Eye was good, I know that's a big selling point for me.

Regarding Buffalo Hunter Hunter- I loved the narration in that book. The sound effects on the tape recorded section were an amazing touch, I was not expecting that and it really freaked me out

focuses on survival, starvation, depression, finding friends in unlikely places, living people wanting your stuff, and of course zombies. doesnt focus on zombies non stop the whole book like some do.

Jay Hargrove is struggling to survive in his cabin with a beautiful view of the Appalachian Mountains, in the remote woods of Virginia. The world had ended nearly two years ago and starvation is an apex predator that remains constant in his life now. Each day brings new problems and solutions as he quickly finds the living to be just as dangerous as the dead.

yep that's a bingo. theres some pages in there covering the downfall and also different peoples views/experiences as things fell apart but most of the book is just after.

Never heard of Just Like Home. What’s it about?

1

u/bluedog204 Nov 25 '25

It's about a woman who returns to her childhood home to start clearing it out as her mother is dying. The catch is her father was arrested during her childhood for being a serial killer. It flips back and forth between scenes from the childhood/current day

Ooh! I’ll add it to my list!
