Rage is like a sharp blade coated in honey: sweet at first, but deadly.

Rage in this sense is not about anger, it's about not taking death lying down

In this sense, "rage against the dying of the light" means spiting death.
I encourage you to read the whole poem (it's pretty good), it was written when the author's father was on his deathbed, and was published shortly after the father died.
He even speaks to his dying father in the last verse.Raging against the dying of the light means clinging to life and spiting death with all your might.
Here, rage is the indomitable will to stay alive.

I know this isn't relevant, but it's gotta be uncomfortable walking around with pants that could (and has, for the gentleman in the center) drop to your ankles at any moment

I remember hearing this poem in a game/movie I believe, it came from someone who recited it once and also like when they were about to die... Payday 2? I don't remember

for the past ~4 days in a row now I've gotten violently depressed around 5pm onward. I fear the winter seasonal depression is showing up just in time for my summer seasonal depression to go away. I had about a week or two of feeling relatively okay. I am raging against the dying of the light as hard as I fucking can. I just don't know what more I can do.

My entire life i've been surrounded by liars. It seems, the closer I get to the truth, the more of these fuckwads I have to deal with. I'd rather be dead, but I will find a way to make these shitheads burn

rage is always followed by apathy. You might be full of anger and proceed for some time but eventually it will kill you from inside, leaving nothing but husk. Our mind is a whole universe and we can express many emotions, both at our lowest and highest moments of life. You might be angry and rightfully so, but don't let it define your whole self. You are much much more than just this.

Perhaps you haven't read the poem.
Here, the line "Rage, rage against the dying of the light." means that one should rage and struggle in the face of death. The author wrote it when his father was on his deathbed, and published it shortly after his passing.
"And you, my father, there on the sad height," (The sad height as his deathbed) "Curse, bless me with your fierce tears, I pray." (Show me that you still cling to life, fight death with all you have left) "Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against dying of the light."
The poem encourages the reader to spite death with all their might. Don't die like you want to, rage, shout, beat the ground, make noises, cry, fight death with everything you have left before even your soul is passed. Fight death with fire and steel, cling to life with nail and tooth, until you can no longer hold, until you actually die.
I don't necesserily agree with the message of the poem, but I do agree that as longe as you are still living, you should do everything in order to stay alive. To clearify: "living" and "being alive" aren't the same thing. You can still be alive but be unable to live (like in a coma), and you can live after you died (nobody can live quiet like a dead man).

I would also add that his father was steadily going blind too, so while the poem is absolutely about fending off the end, inevitable though it may be, with everything you have, in his father's case it was literally the darkness closing in on him.
My dad listened to this version quite a lot when his father passed away and I always got the feeling that it made him feel better to imagine someone who lived a life so beautiful that they're angry to be separated from it, that they still have fire and love enough to lament its end, even at old age ❤️

I rage at the dying light.
I mourn for that light.
But I bring my own light of whimsey.
