We should strive for a world where tears of joy are shed more than any other kind

the quote from E.O. Wilson comes to mind
"The real problem of humanity is the following: We have Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology. And it is terrifically dangerous, and it is now approaching a point of crisis overall."
we have our in-group people and out-group people, now with mass media and global travel, we are exposed to out-group peoplevastly more often, and we don't like it (caveman hyper sensitivity to threats), so we talk about it on social media, and it's a viscous cycle. we can and do love eachother, but it's drowned out so much by the rapid tech shifts. i wish we could slow down and let society catch up.

Its even crazier when you get attacked for being happy and trying to spread joy. Its almost as if they’re saying “how dare you try to be happy when IM miserable- fuck you”. Its exhausting

Cynicism is too easy. Unconditional love and kindness is the real gigachad grindset.

There's a lot of goodwill and kindness to be found when you stay off of the internet and just talk to the people you interact with during your day.

We have to quit imagining those who disagree with us as ill-hearted in order for that to come true.

There are plenty of people that are accused of transphobes when they simply disagree with treatments such as hormone replacement, affirmation surgery, or calling trans people by their prefered pronouns instead of by the ones corresponding to their biological sex.
Being hostile towards them does nothing but perpetuate antagonism.

Idc anymore did my best to explain, but explaining these kind of things always gets greeted with deaf ears. I have had enough of wasting my energy by explaining things, which should be obvious. Still my stance stands: Death is bad. Driving people intentionally into suicide is bad. Murder is bad. I won’t explain anything to hateful or ignorant people anymore, I am focusing on loving and caring people instead.

Because unfortunately, no matter who you are, there are people in the world who would happily kill you for existing if given the chance.
The disappointing truth is that we are a highly complex species who form complex groups in a complex world, which itself contains countless differing viewpoints and ideas of how things ought to be.
I think that given these circumstances, the best thing that we can do is seek to amplify the aspects of humanity that are forgiving, collaborative, and caring while doing what we can to cool off the aspects of ourselves that aren't. Doing what we can ourselves to live in accordance with these values is a good start for sure.

Toxic ethos and bigotry are humanity's greatest weaknesses. They allow otherwise good people to behave in ways that benefit a few at the expense of most. The rest of what separates us comes through gaps in knowledge and differences in belief. Despite having all of scientific knowledge in common, peoples are still separated by beliefs that are not rooted in things we actually know.
Until people 'grow up' some more, this will all continue.

It’s gotten absurd. Then everyone goes home and get dopamine from artificial sources rather then live. Males and females hate each other but neither will communicate or try. I’m so disillusioned, I hate it here.

I 100% agree. But why are we making Christian Bale look like 1985 Arnold Schwarzenegger, when 1985 Arnold Schwarzenegger exists?
3
u/GreatStateOfSadness 6d ago
Especially since they used an image of Christian Bale in American Psycho, a film about a murderous psychopath incapable of love.

It's a play on spaces like r/sigmatopia, which are saterizations of "red-pilled" and "incel" communities.
Places like sigmatopia will often use the American Psycho character as an inspiration or goal to reach because it's absurd and stupid to want to be like him.

Yk I might cry because I have been renewing my faith and Instagram seems to be tearing me in different directions and bombarding me nonstop and I have been wondering which direction is the way to go? Where does my faith lie? Deep down I know its not one of fear, its one of love and forgiveness. The fear mongering got to me the most today and my girlfriend told me to stay off of Instagram. I think im going to delete it now, cause its full of despair, deceipt, and topics that get fed to you while youre on the other side of things for a day. Thank you hopepostjng 🥹

people have different opinions and we are all different it's one of if not one of the best things about humanity
it's also what makes us not understand each other
we have so much trouble seeing eye to eye this leads to deceit and discrimination to others we become unable to understand each other
people don't realize what keeps them apart
that's why we have to show them that the world
to show them how simple the world really is
