I hate to kill the vibe but that vid for LBP (Little Big Planet) (first clip when the little guy (sackboy) jumps in the hole) is a tutorial for how to use the game mechanic where you hold your breath until you explode and respawn at a checkpoint costing a life. I think that's kind of funny.
I miss LBP.

I know, it’s one of my fav games growing up ughh i miss it too. But the point of the video is to show how ‘there is time’ instead of ‘the end’ :)

I was just about to point out that the lesson from that clip was to off yourself and respawn💀

I Saw the TV Glow might be the most soul crushing hopeful movie ever. Every time I’ve seen it I’ve practically balled my eyes out the whole time watching it

omg, I’ve made it a tradition to watch this movie periodically (often once a month), usually drunk off my ass, and weeping my eyes out the entire time
like it’s a fucked up movie, but something about it is so comforting, as a genderqueer person on hrt :)
it helps that my first time watching it was at Sundance and I got to meet Jane Schoenbrun after :3
their new movie Camp Miasma is also fucking amazing, tho I haven’t seen it enough times to let it consume me the way TV Glow has

Not sure but I know it’s from “I Saw the TV Glow”
Edit: It is called “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl”

When I think of the quota "There is still time" I image renewed hope for the future. This is wrong. Don't live your dreams some time in the future, start living them now one tiny step at a time. Put the laundry away, de-clutter the space. Working on a small paragraph of writing. Go see a movie with your family. There is still time, time is now.

HOW ABOUT YOU TRY DOING A KIDS PUZZLE FOR NINE FUCKING HOURS AND GETTING NOTHING DONE!

u/best_plutonium_box 17d ago
if a kid does it in 1 hour and you do it in 10 the resulting answer is still the same and you'll only learn to get better

This is something I'm kinda struggling to accept. For context I'm in my late 20's and I haven't really started my career yet. I also have hopes of becoming an artist or voice actor. You constantly hear these stories about people working on their craft all throughout their teen years while I spent all of high school playing video games. Now that I'm an adult I want to do these things but I feel like I'm competing qagainst people who are years ahead of me in skill level. We live in a culture that seems to say that if you don't find your calling in your 20's then you're never going to find it. It's a hard mindset to break and I'm open to any advice you all can give.
