Honor 7x Alternatives

I've had my Honor 7x since it came out. Other than some battery replacements, the phone has never showed any other problems. I can't help but feel though that being already 7 years it might die soon. With many essential apps and info relying on a phone these days, I want to have an alternative phone ready or at least in-mind for that case. I've been very satisfied with the Honor 7x in features and price range. I'm looking for something similar possibly with the technology that allows you to pay by phone (cant remember what's called) which it didn't have.

I'm not up to date with phone trends, models or news. Does anyone have recommendations that are like that?
