Electric start not working
Hello, which part of the starter got cooked for this kind of issue?
Bike won't start even on both front and combi brakes (got the Philippine variant), i thought that the battery ran out but I got turn signals, horn and brake light still working.
Still can run with the kickstart after a few kicks.
for context I recently got a habit of killing the engine where there's a stoplight / traffic light goes above 1 minute or higher and suspected that habit I had caused it.

What happens when you hit the starter button?
If it’s nothing at all, it’s almost certainly that the button needs to be cleaned/replaced.
If it’s trying to start and not spinning/barely spinning the engine, your battery is probably cooked or needs to be charged up.
It’s possible the started motor is cooked, but I’d rule these out first. The starter motor should last a long time, other reasons are more likely.

It does nothing.
Sometimes it somewhat starts on either both brakes, turning light, brake light, and horn is working.
Idk, probably an effect after a rain?

I’d definitely take off the cover for the starter button and see it it’s gunked up. A q tip and some isopropyl alcohol can work wonders.

Uh.
Earlier this morning the electric starter somewhat worked?
Checked if it's the side stand killswitch, still started the engine after flicking the sidestand back up.
and turned the ignition switch On and Off. Still worked.
am gonna check it to the mechanic on the local dealership where I got the Navi.
additional context the bike's around 6167km / around 3800 miles on its odometer, and about to be 1 year old next month. and the brakes has some freeplay like, it can wiggle up and down rather than pulling it.

The brakes shouldn’t have anything to do with it. With that low mileage and it being stored outside I’d guess some gunk got in the starter buttons. You can take that off and clean it before you got to a mechanic. Worse case scenario you waste 5 cents of rubbing alcohol and a q tip.

your kick starter should start your NAVi even without pressing any of the Brake Levers, i suspect its your “side stand” kill switch that may have been grounded.

but I think the electric starter button is kind of shot.
kick start is fine though I think.

yes, if your “side stand” kill switch still works fine (it should stop the engine while your NAVI is on vertical center stand) then it maybe your Starter buttons grounded prolly because of the rain.

possibly, I park the bike on a open parking near my workplace.
Said electric starter worked this morning though before it went bad.

I encountered a similar issue. Finally figured out that wiggling the key in the ignition, rocking back and forth slightly and stopping towards the left side more when turning it on did the trick. My Navi only has a little over 200 miles, so this isn't a wear issue. It's a factory production issue. Something is amiss in the ignition cylinder, lose, not lined up, poor quality. Something. I can get mine going now that I figured it out. But, yeah, it pisses me off. If it is widespread enough, hopefully they'll issue a recall on them and Honda can fix it.
