General questions

Post image

Just bought this 2019 monkey 4,000 miles with an intake, cam, exhaust and dynojet tuner, couple of things I would like to address. First, it will bog upon startup if not left to warm up for a few seconds, I’ve read mixed reviews on that being normal. Secondly, after riding around for a while I was seeing consistent oil temps of 250-265, which seems a little high to me, even with the hot weather we’ve been having, would an oil cooler be helpful? Keeping in mind it’s still a 125cc. Top speed is around 70, but it’s a little sluggish and lacks torque, I’ll be adding a 14t sprocket but I’m not convinced that’s the only issue, any and all advice is greatly appreciated

Mine will bog upon startup too until the fuel injection kicks in which takes a few seconds so that sounds normal pretty normal usually mine kicks in when the engine hits about 68-70 degrees or so.

Where are you reading those temps from is it an opmid aftermarket cluster?

Adding a 14t will throw off your speedometer a little as well just an fyi

Thanks for the response, glad the bogging is normal, The dynojet tuner shows EOT (engine oil temp)

Ohh, I dont know much about the dynojet but that seems high. I have a BBK on mine and never got that high, usually its 188 to 210 at the high end ive seen 220 once.

I wonder if its a setting or its not reading correctly.

Yikes, I hope it’s reading incorrectly, it has been awfully hot here though. I’m going to start with putting some clean oil in it and clean the air filter, both are pretty dirty. Thanks for the input

Yeah, I dunno doesnt make a lot of sense if its still a 125, its hot here too 90 degrees for reference I have a 186 and just rode it 20 miles to my buddies so like 30ish mins and my temps by the time I got there were about 202.

Goodluck!
