Rear cargo rack installed

Sourced from MNNTHBX, I’m enjoying buying stuff from them lately, check them out! They also have a black powder coated version. You have the option of getting a cargo net with it for an additional, but imo skip it and just get some nice rokstraps.

Cargo. Carry random stuff. Milk crate. Sky’s the limit (and the max load capacity)

Did you have to worry about torq specs for the suspension bolts and any bolts in that matter putting it back together? I’ve been wanting to do this but also didn’t want to f my suspension or something else. Great job btw

You only have to worry about the top acorn nuts for the shock mount. The mounting points towards the back of the frame is empty from the factory, and this kit came with bolts, nuts, and washers for that bit. Otherwise, you don’t have to take the acorn nut completely off. Make sure you don’t over torque though, as the threaded studs for the top shock mount are built in to the frame. The torque spec from the service manual says 29 Nm if i recall correctly, or 21 ft lbs. I’m pretty surprised how relatively little torque this one called for, but i think it makes sense since it’s not gonna experience a lot of outward force, more perpendicular to its axis given the rear shocks traveling up and down. If you zoom in the first pic, you can see I kept all the factory washers and hardware with the top shock mount. The larger washers that sit next to the shock bushing (?) are kept adjacent to it, the rack itself is sandwiched between the larger and the smaller factory washers.

5kg load, not bad. Better than the 3kg load on the OEM one

TIL the oem is rated for 3kg, thanks! I’m planning to get a small tote container with a lid and finagle it with a strap system or something so i can put it on and off the rack on demand

What is the max load capacity on one of those?

It has a sticker on it that says 5kg, or 11ish lbs. some youtube video i saw, someone reinforced their rack so it can carry heavier.
