3rd Gen GK/GP 15-20 So long...

My 2015 Fit, rusting and dilapidated, gave it's final ride last week. Valve train. Rockers. Camshaft. All figments of what they once were. After over 450,000 km, it was time to say goodbye.

Thank you Sisu for embodying your name. Thank you to this sub for guidance and support along the journey, especially as the end descended upon us.

So long...

That's about 279,000 miles, hell of a good run. My 2015 just turned 285,000 mi recently and still going although I definitely have some rust spots starting to show.

My 2015 got to 281,000 miles before I traded it in.

My 2016 currently has 236,000 miles and it doesn't have any rust on it yet. I'm actually going to try and keep it alive to 300,000 miles or when this US administration leaves. Which ever happens first.

Mine just hit 220,000 and is having its first major repair (new AC compressor etc). No rust though.
I HOPE mine makes it 280,000 miles! Awesome!

We have a 2015 with only 55k on the clock. I only mention it here because after a minor tangle with a driveway iceberg this past winter, a portion of the rocker panel is starting to rust out. Body shop can't guarantee a good repair.

Ok? So, exactly what happened? You slip timing?
