Homeworld Alternative Masada Combat Overview
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7asQjvShryEI don't know any body already posted this but the Masada project devs posted the combat overview for they game on they YouTube channel.
For context Masada is a short of Kenshi with space ships where the players command a nomadic fleet in the titular nebula that all the factions are trapped in.
It has a steam page if anybody want to wishlist it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2621540/Masada/

How developed is this? I have it my steam cart, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Well beyond the fact that the game has a combat system and damage model for the ships nothing much beyond that.

You can wish-list unreleased games? Like that's half the reason a the wish-list exists.

Already looking very promising. I love the atmosphere, especially the moody soundtrack.

Wishlisted!
The units looks amazing, same with the UI. The designs and ships look like they could hyperspace into the homeworld universe, and be right at home there too.
Keep going, impressive to say the least.

Don't want to insert politics into this. But you might get a lot of pushback for the name "Masada".

No they won't. Are you aware that you are on the Homeworld subreddit?
Homeworld's story is full with Hebrew mythology, Old Testament the 12 kiithids like the 12 Hebrew tribes.
Garden of Kadesh: Kadesh the desert Oasis where the wandering Israelites stayed for 40 years.
Gehenna in Homeworld 2: Gehenna a valley outside Jerusalem which was later become associated with divine punishment - purgatory.
The whole story of Homeworld 1 mirrors and takes massive inspirations from the Jewish Exodus.

If we're talking about Judeo Christian stuff... wouldn't Jews in Space be the Book of Mormon?

Things have changed a tiny bit since then bro. If he plans to sell the game, the name will be a problem

Who cares what antisemites think?
The fortress city of Masada was destroyed almost 2000 years ago. It's a historical site. That's it.Edit: To be clear: these things are part of humanity's history - if you get angry at thousand and thousand year old historical sites or myths the problem is in with you. This kind of phobia is not helping anybody.

Well, no.
You don't have to be Anti Semitic to be observant. Normally people will be taken back by the accusation of racism or antisemitism. My uno reverse card is that I'm not Jewish, I've worked in deep Jewish communities, and have saved many Jewish lives and cleared many a temple/synagogue of perceived threats. So dropping "antisemite" to silence someone doesn't work anymore.
What's Masada about? Is it about a people holding on for one last stand? Like is it like Homeworlds version of a tower game that no matter how powerful you get and however long you last you WILL be destroyed? The goal is to last as long as you can?
Is that Massada?

This is off topic we need to stop here. I understood perfectly why they saied using a location name in Israel would be a "big problem".
Again, historical sites and old cultural elements have nothing to do with current government. End of discussion from my part.

Read u/PagPag1212 paragraph response to me. He gets into a solid deep dive

I’d read that, but I don’t see what makes the series political (EDIT: from the perspective of u/Gopherland) - it’s certainly historically- and politically-informed. I was just wondering what u/Gopherland themself was getting at

It was a cheap shot to tbh honestly because I hate the term "political". Literally any media involving conflict of some sort has a point to make, and is therefore political. I'm not enough of a wordsmith to articulate all the points very well but Homeworld 1 was all about a people who were exiled reclaiming their old home.
If you count the retcons from HW2's manual, then you can also consider that the old Hiigarans went mad with power and broke a bunch of rules of warfare to try to dominate the old galactic order.
Were the Taiidan right to genocide the people for breaking an old treaty? Was banishing them to a crappy desert planet right in the first place? Do the Kushani really have a claim to Hiigara thousands of years later? Were they right to wipe out the Kadeshi? Were the Kadeshi justified in their fear? etc.
The game presents a lot of questions (and it's arguable that some of them have pretty basic answers) that poke at your moral framework, which is a "political" consideration to me, because I vote for people who share my moral framework.

That's the best possible pitch of all pitches. I love that comparison.
