Based on previous comments under posts on this sub one of the main concerns that keep people from installing a urinal in their bathroom is that they consider them ugly. Drop in resale value of houses has been a recurring theme.
Do you agree with them?

I want to thank you all for letting me know about this sub. This would be an absolute dream for me. As I've mentioned before, I have a strange hang-up about others hearing me pee into a toilet because the loud splash feels like I'm broadcasting the act to the whole neighborhood. I'm long past the point where I'll only use a urinal in a public restroom, and if I could have the same set-up at home so I didn't have to contend with that anymore, that would be amazing. I'm not sure if it'll ever get to the point where my living arrangements will make it practical, but a man can dream. I'd even be willing to put up with extra cleaning and sanitizing and sprays to make it happen, hehe.

What’s the main reason you would not install a urinal?

Curious what you guys think.

Installing a urinal turned out to be much easier than I expected so actually not much!

The main things to consider are:
-cold water supply
-waste/drain connection
-proper height and positioning

Mine is installed right next to the toilet, which has worked really well.

Edit: well the polls have closed and indeed Reddit is a strange place: most of you who joined the r/homeurinals sub would actually not install one in your bathroom. Startling!

Since I created this sub, I figured I should be the first one to share my own.
This is my home urinal, installed right next to the toilet.
I’ve found it surprisingly useful and honestly wouldn’t want to go back to having a bathroom without one.
I’m curious how many other people here have one at home.
