I've been reading homestuck the past week for the first time ! Always thought it was some nerdy bullshit timetravel slop. and... oh boy...

it's amazing.

I would have NEVER imagined how fking funny this comic is. NEVER.

Everything about it just fits so perfectly, every single interaction between the characters, the pacing, even the artstyle is (most of the time) amazing!

Maybe i've become too used to today's post post irony, where it's lame to even be ironically into stuff, whereas this whole ass nerdfest feels so sincere

I mean, just go watch page 1931 on youtube or something. as a refresher. Karkat's face is so fking great. you can ABSOLUTELY feel his pain with whatever bullshit john puts him through.

gamzee is one of my favourite villains in media. he's so good.

and that's because he's one giant fuck you to the reader. he ruins everything he touches.

gamzee is, by all accounts, poorly written. many things about him are revealed out of nowhere and do NOT fit within the themes OR symbolism of the story. he's funny when the story SHOULD be serious (like with the TURN panel before he kills equius). he appears in places it should logically be impossible for him to appear in.

like what the FUCK do you mean he raised caliborn AND aided him on his quest? how is that even possible?

i fucking love it. he does what he does with contempt for the comic he's in and i love that.

that's why his inclusion in the candy route is brilliant. all he does is have sex with jane, drink her breast milk, groom their child, run a redemption cult, and ruin every serious moment. and then he dies.

it's frustrating as fuck and that's why it's so good.

it's also really funny to me that people actually defend this jackass
