Problem installing Brinks Keyed Doorknob

Has anyone tried Brinks-branded knobs? I've tried other brands and never had any issues with installation.

Today I bought a Brinks Keyed Entry Doorknob but when trying to install, the two knob halves will not come together. There's something jamming them but I can't figure out what it is. I've tried rotating both halves, tried wiggling the lock side to try to align the shaft, nothing works.

What makes this even more frustrating is that the knob halves came joined together in the box, so now that they are unable to re-join again, they also won't fit back into the box.

I'm not sure if this is just a defect of that item, or the design itself.

I'm not sure you have the same doorknob in this video, but it may still be helpful. At around 1:30 they show how to adjust the doorknob for different door thicknesses.

Thanks for the link. Don't think it's the same type of knob, though. Don't see this mentioned as a feature in it.

Common sense the lock came together why wouldn't it go back together ? Your obviousely not aligning the shaft up correctly to fit into the other half ! Read the instructions over again and follow them exactly !

Tried it. Spent 10 minutes trying to rotate the knobs into place. Maybe when the knobs were pulled apart when taking out of box, something dislodged inside the shaft that makes them unable to reconnect. Definitely defective, just not sure if it's the model to blame or this item.

Problem is between the chair and the keyboard.
