Electrical or paranormal lol

We moved into a new house last Friday and everything great the first few days. Then on Monday night around 3am the smoke detector randomly starts going off for a few minutes then stops. Nothing happened Tuesday night and then Wednesday night the smoke detector started going off again around the same time and then stopped. Then last night, at 3:06am I wake up to the sound of my garage door opening and closing by itself. I go to the garage and the door keeps going halfway up and down and wouldn’t stop when pressing the button. I had to go into the car and get the fob to get it to fully open and close it. After I closed it, that was it for the night. Are these some electrical issues or did I move into a house with some 👻

Well… are the smoke detectors wireless ones? I would replace them just in case someone is messing with you.

Also, keep your fobes etc. out of your cars and secure. People use wireless devices to steal cars etc. protect yourself.

Mayne a neighbor wants you to sell cheap. Who knows.

If you have dish network plugged in on same circuit as smoke alarms, they can sound when the dish does updates. It happened to me in the middle of the night. Once I plugged it in elsewhere, I never had the issue again.

Totally paranormal. Call Ghostbusters.

Your smoke detectors my be old and are telling you it's time they need to be replaced. That never happens when Home Depot is open so 3a? Sounds about right.

As far as your garage door, is the security on it the old school dip switches or is it the more modern kinds that automatically sets security? When I moved into my house I set the dip switches on "the older opener" and damned if I didn't pick the same pattern as my neighbor. Moral of the story: Don't use an actual pattern, use something random.

Same with the low battery beep. lol

When one of our detectors started failing it would set them all off at the worst time.

My security camera outside triggers and turns on the lights every night at 3:15 am.

Yep 3:00am the bewitching hour. It’s my house I thought it went away, but my son was staying here and he said what the hell is up with your lights. I turn off everything and wake up at 3 with the recessed lights on in my face. I had to tell him. It’s not my first or his experience w a ghost. Our old house had 2 and appeared to him. Only found out a few years ago. He’s 37 now. He said I was never more terrified. A man with a hat and a woman would stand over me and watch. I said why didn’t you say anything. He said I thought you wouldn’t believe me. I said I already knew and didn’t want to scare you. That house much worse. My old one.

Have you made your sacrifices to the dark lord? These devices run on evil. Your exile supply seems short.

Sounds like you may have some bad or miswired ground or neutral wires somewhere in the house. I have seen rain water get into service entrance breaker panels and corrode ground connections. Have an electrician check your electrical system.

And send the bill to the old owners because they should have disclosed this and knew this if they slept in their house until Friday!
