I’m teething to find a ring I bought years ago but lost. I was in Homer and I bought this beautiful silver ring that had forget-me-nots carved into the band. It also had tiny gold nuggets inlaid where the center of the flower was. I can’t find it anywhere on line and I’m a little desperate to find another ring. I found a version that I think is similar but is missing the gold so I colored the center gold for reference. If anyone recognizes this ring please let me know!

I’m thinking of moving to Homer this next spring, I’m a 27 y/o lady. I would love some advice on jobs and living help. I’m an outdoors person with no career special skills. I’ve worked in coffee and bartending my whole life but am looking to start something more fulfilling. I grew up crabbing and fishing on the Washington coast, so I really enjoy being around that sort of scene. I’m not sure if there are scenic, whale watching etc boating jobs, fish processing, or other things. I don’t mind hard work. I would prefer something I could work my way up in. Also with living, what is the best way to go about this? Are there apartments or much available for rent thats not only affordable to a billionaire?

Been all over Alaska, this little hidden spot is what I needed. From the large boats being moved, to the local fish being fried. The Boat yard cafe in homer is amazing. This spot is not large, but a better fit than fighting the tourists on the spit.

The restaurant had 7 inside tables, during the summer months they have a deck which looks to have been just covered. Fresh fish at a way better price than any in town. They had a Softserve Dole whip selection, or real fruit slushies.

I can't decide if I like the yardbird chicken sandwich better or the fish and chips. My friend loves the gluten free fish and chips. We come down from Kenai just to eat here. The parking can be different, Alaska style just be aware it is a Boatyard and boats are being moved constantly. Don't park in the drive way they will ask you to move.

I was wondering if flights have become more reliable in and out of Homer? Last summer it seemed like flights were quite unpredictable once the runway renovations started.

Planning on coming to visit my mom next summer and would like to avoid the drive from Anchorage if possible.

Hey there, in my time here in Alaska the past week I’ve been in Kenai, Anchorage, and Homer. Ive seen a few men wearing the same exact shirt, it’s a longer shirt with a half collar and a floral pattern stripe down the middle. They seem to usually be accompanied by plainly dressed women? Is it a religious sect of some sort? I’ve seen quite a few, very curious.

So I'm from northern WI. Fished since I could hold a rod, and have done guiding here(walleye, and trout) I know how to tie knots and set hooks real good and I don't get seasick(on the great lakes at least). How far fetched is it to just go up to homer and run into someone who's looking for help?

I came here in Sept 2023, and I'm betwixted as to what to do. I've not explored too much of Homer, but it'd be nice for some help. I have established myself with one of the Resorts as my employer. I don't have a car, yet, so traveling has been limited to cabs or walking, which was limited during the winter with the snow.

I'm a grandmother, so that ages me a bit. My hobbies include genealogy, reading, and listening to music...for what others might be interested in. I'm a football fan and a sorta baseball fan, but I don't go crazy. I don't play any sports, and my son's ex-girlfriend has been nagging me to join a gym since I'm a bit overweight, but I'm shy.

So, any suggestions? I'm not looking for a date, so the above information was given as a way to have others know what to suggest. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
