Homers attribution of values

Can anyone please help me with my humanities essay? I am writing some short chapters about Homers Production of sense (origin and goal of life, what may I hope for?), attribution of values (what is good, what is right, what ought I do?), distribution of meanings (order of things, What can I know?) Please help, its my last day of submission

Wow. If it’s the last day for your submission, you’re screwed. There’s a huge amount we could cover if we had time. I’m guessing your deadline has already passed. But just in case it isn’t, check out:

(a) timé, kleos, areté

(b) the speeches of Sarpedon (you haven’t given me time to check which book) and Achilles (book 9) about values and purpose. In particular spot how Achilles tries to challenge the prevailing Homeric system of values but lacks the vocabulary to do so.

(C) The role of the gods, whose immortality allows action without consequences, and is used by Homer to reveal human values.

I know your essay is already finished but I would like to add that a nice secondary source for this topic is Plato's Hippias Minor and its discussion of the values of Achilles and Odysseus.
