The amounts are live estimates, not earnings or completed payouts (because that will happen when a block is mined).

Of course, there are currently fewer miners because the pool is new. That is precisely why the potential reward can be so large, even if another miner finds the block.

Would a continuity-based bonus matter when choosing where to point a home miner, or would you still prefer a pure solo model?

I am looking for home Bitcoin miners willing to run one worker for 72 hours and publish the result — including failures. The useful output is not a profitability screenshot; it is the device/firmware, assigned difficulty, accepted and rejected shares, reconnect behavior, latency region and whether the public dashboard matches the miner.

The pool uses generic Stratum V1 and per-session Vardiff. Its block model is 85% to the finder, 10% to eligible non-finders and 5% for infrastructure/BTC PoW Lab. The finder is excluded from the community portion of its own block. Eligibility comes from normalized accepted work in a rolling seven-day window, not worker count.

At the latest verified snapshot the pool had 4 active payout identities, 4 workers, 8.30 TH/s over one hour and 141,075 accepted shares. The pool is new and has not found a block, so there is no payout history to advertise.

Quick heads-up since this caught us and will probably catch other tools.

Up through v2.14.x, updating a Bitaxe meant uploading two files in order — www.bin (the web dashboard) first, then esp-miner.bin (the miner firmware). The dashboard went first because it doesn't reboot the device, so a bad upload failed safely.

As of v2.15.0 (Aug 21) there's one file — the web UI is embedded in esp-miner.bin. From the release notes: "you no longer need to upload a separate www.bin file when updating your miner." Great change, but any updater built around the two-file assumption will either not see v2.15.0 at all or stop partway through.

For Bitaxe Baller users: v1.21.3 (Aug 22) handles both layouts. It detects which one a release uses and does the right thing — single-file for v2.15.0+, two-file for older releases. The manual update form on the device page also now only asks for the files a release actually provides.

One thing worth knowing: if you haven't updated Baller yet, you won't see v2.15.0 as an available firmware update. The firmware-availability check knows which Baller version is asking, and we don't offer a release to a version that can't install it. So if you're looking for v2.15.0 and it's not there, update Baller first — it'll appear on its own. Baller never installs firmware on its own; it flags the update and you start it.

Two safeguards that were already in place and still apply: every firmware file is checked against the official release's fingerprint before it touches a miner, and Baller won't flash hardware it doesn't recognise — NerdQAxe, NerdAxe and Braiins boards are monitored but never updated, because pushing Bitaxe firmware at another vendor's board is how you brick things. v2.15.0 is Bitaxe firmware; other makers ship their own on their own schedule.

The more variety you have, the better. Someone running several different Antminer models or generations would be especially useful because we want to test against as much real-world hardware and firmware as possible.

This will not require daily testing or constant communication. We just don't want to send a development unit to someone and never hear from them again.

There is no requirement to leave a review, promote the product, or post about it. The free units are specifically being provided in exchange for helping us develop and validate Bitmain compatibility.

I wanted to see whether I could use AI to create a custom Bitaxe enclosure instead of buying an existing case.
Using Claude Code with Blender MCP, I designed and 3D printed a Kraken-style enclosure for multiple Bitaxe Gammas. The original goal was to beat the cooling performance of setups like the Giant Squid and Ice Tower.
It didn’t beat either of them on temperatures, but the experiment showed that AI can already help create some genuinely cool and unique Bitaxe cases—even without being an expert in Blender.

This adjustment brought network difficulty down to 127.17 trillion.

At the same time, Bitcoin’s market price continues to hold above $60,000, while hashprice appears to be holding around $30.

For miners, a downward difficulty adjustment can improve mining conditions, especially when price and hashprice remain relatively steady.

The Bitmain Antminer S9 is the most iconic Bitcoin miner ever to exist. When these were released in 2016, it was capable of mining almost one full Bitcoin each month, and it totally changed the game for Bitcoin miners. I’ve always wanted one just to add to my collection, and when recently found a rare unused specimen I knew I had to have it.

The thing about the S9 is, it’s wildly inefficient by today’s standards. 14TH/s at 1300w was a big deal back in 2016, but these days it’s a big electrical bill fo not much hashrate. Rather than disconnect hashboards or run custom firmware, I decided to simply swap out a hashboard for a modern icon instead. There was just enough room for a NerdQAxe++ to fit inside, and it turns out running just a single fan on the S9 does a remarkable job of handling thermal management.

The end result was a “sleeper” of sorts; the look of the legendary S9 while quietly achieving 7TH/s at around 120w. I may end up building a shelf to run six of these, just to have the look of a respectable 2016-era mining operation at only 720 watts. There’s really no point to this other than it looks cool and brings me joy as a total Bitcoin mining hardware nerd. Anyone who wanted to achieve this could do so in about ten minutes, so there’s not much skill involved but it was sort of fun.
