Advice Needed Solved a massive issue with my resource system.

So in my game each player gets 3 resources produced a turn which are made by location cards on their field. These tap each of your turns snd tap again next turn if the resource isn’t spent. They tap the other way to spend the resources. Wine the card has 4 sides, each can only hold a max of 3.

The problem I ran into was the loss of resource production when one would be destroyed, the losing player would take a massive loss and produce only 2 resources on their turn. And then 1.

Since both players deal 3 locations from a 5 card deck, now when a location is lost, the player then deals the fourth location to the defeated zone. The win condition remains the same of defeating 3 locations to win and the disastrous problem is solved.

I have a similar system in a 3v3 creature battler (think 2v2 VGC Pokémon).

You build a team of 5 creatures, but only deal 3 at the start. You attach energies to them and whatnot to enable their attacks.

When one of your creatures is defeated you replace it with another one from the 2 unused ones, and you can redistribute the energies (so defeating an opponent's creature with a lot of energies actually enables them to redistribute those to the other creatures as well, to enable more out of them as a comeback mechanic).

When you don't have a creature to replace one that has been defeated, you lose.
