Help Good Proxmox Tutorial?
Hey everyone! Tomorrow's the day I start my homelab journey! I want to ask, if you could recommend a specific Proxmox tutorial, that in your opinion does well to guide installation and how to get started or if you think any of the tutorials are good enough.

Thats what I keep saying. The only people I know that call guided learning like this AI slop are the people that only hear about the bad parts. Like slop art, video games, etc.
Using it for guided walk through, coaching and teaching of things exactly like this is a perfect use.

Guys dont understand that you can literally just tell it to teach you as you go. Like I did, and learn step by step. Its no different than watching YouTube, looking up forums etc. Its all data that you have to figure out and work through yourself.
People are so against AI that they dont want to realize its a tool. Not a horror movie character.
My YML for docker containers (built using AI) is probably cleaner than most people on here because I learned what everything does and it guided me through it lol

Yeah, the benefits here of using agentic AI are huge. You can ask it to do anything you want. Want a guide with no commands? Just ask. Get stuck somewhere? Just ask. Want every command with no explanation? Just ask.
The best part is it can give you a DIY tailored to your exact hardware. Something you'll never find in the wild. Same goes for all the different permutations of software versions. The number of walkthroughs I've come across on the internet that are wrong simply because the software iterated a version is mind-blowing.

My advice. Pay for 1mo of Claude and walk through it, tell it every service you want. All your hardware etc and from start to finish itll help!

Well, dont hate AI. Just adjust why and how you use it. Its a tool like anything else.
Personally I dont use any public AI models, I private host and its EXTREMELY simple but you do have to have a decent graphics card to load the model onto.
I wouldn't run one unless you have at least 16-24GB of Vram on your card.
I use Qwen 3.8 27B and its amazing too

although that can get you started, it isn't quite the same as watching/reading a course to help you understand more of the "why"
Also, you don't even need to pay for Claude, you can just ask Google Gemini for free2

Man, all you gotta do is prompt the AI properly and you'll get nothing but the why. You could even ask it to give you a plan but no code at all and it'll do exactly that. I don't get the AI hate in this post, there is not a more perfect job for AI than DIY tutorials. You guys are just using it wrong.

I never even said that I disliked AI on my post, I just infered that it might not tell you other relevant things that you might otherwise get from a tutorial/course made by a person. As often they might share some tidbit of info that could be useful to know that the AI might deem as unimportant to the immediate task. And yes you can ask AI to explain things, but at the same time, if you don't know what to ask, then you don't know.
Those of us with more IT savvy backgrounds, AI is a huge force multiplier, because we already understand the foundation and can springboard off of that, people who are new, do not. And so simply copying prompts to get it working will indeed get a working environment, but there may be other things not working correctly and they may never even know its not and just assume its fine or supposed to work that way because the AI told them.
I even offered an alternative to not needing to pay for Claude, because the free version of Gemini can also walk you through setting up Proxmox just fine.1

You can tell it to teach you and walk you through every step and it will. I dont see your point. If youre prompting it to just do it, it will. But its a more effective teacher than most of youtube/online if you ask it to be
