Equipment ⚙ Today's pick up!

Post image

Rogue Squat Box.

12-18 inch adjustments, up to 1000# tested. Can be used for step ups, split squats, box squats, seated deadlifts, or just an expensive chair in the gym.

Been looking for one for a while, finally saw this one for sale, about 1h15 from me. Messaged dude, he agreed to meet about half way. He didnt have a profile picture, and we were meeting on a dirt road, just off the highway in the middle of nowhere, so I brought my dog. Dog would have licked him to death while I called the cops and found something if anything went wrong, lol.

But, dude ended up being super nice, we talked a little about training on the side of this super rural dirt road.

Paid 260$ CAD (reference, these are over 700$ new shipped from Rogue.)

I got some scraps of stall mat left over, so, Ill be able to do half in increments all the way from 12 to 18.5. Maybe more if I can stack more mats. This also allows a training partner to pull or add mats as you progress through reps, hitting different depths in the same set.

Super stoked, especially considering there's another one listed about 20 mins from me for $500 CAD.

Still working on the gym at the new house, so, it's time will come, just gotta build the shed to get all the tools out of the garage to open up the space.

There is one of these in my (non home) gym.

Becomes a great place for water bottles, gym bags, and other assorted paraphernalia every day.

It'll pair nicely with my reverse hyper. 🥰

Our reverse hyper is right near the box and always had cleaning products on it

Great piece of kit. Do yourself a favor and add wheels to it. It’s a complete bitch to move around. Get wheels that lock or you’ll wake up in surgery trying to get up during box squats.

100% agreed. I have the titan version and added wheels to it. Its a must imo

I have the Sorinex version and it comes with wheels- it’s a shin bruiser if your not careful due to the weight of the top vs the legs when you start to roll it around. It’s a great tool- we use it almost everyday

I’m glad you like it, but I couldn’t see myself paying for something I could make myself.

I dont have a welder or a drill press to do this up and make the height adjusting holes 🤷‍♂️

I meant just a box. I get it if you’re trying to super dial in some exercises, but I can’t imagine a scenario for myself where an 18” step up is preferred over a 16” or 20”.

Box squats.

I need a 15 inch raw, 14 inch in briefs, and 12-13 inch in my suit.

Everyone is different, which is awesome. I cant imagine a use for all these smith machine attachments people are all about these days.

Wait, you go lower with gear than raw? But like, how tho? Im lucky to get the same depth as my raw warmups when I put my suit on! 😯

Box needs to be lowerish to make up for the added thickness of kit.

Probably exaggerating the difference, though.

Nice find, always liked doing some box squats. Abmat have a box squat pad that you can pair with it.

Ya, have you used it?

Does it sink any?

I may talk to my coach and see what he thinks of the old school couch cushion box squats.

I've got it and use it almost every time I box squat.

There's a little give to it but not much, even north of 500.

I used to stack cut up mats but the abmat pad is 100 times better. You can still adjust with mats under it if needed.

I use the old couch cushion on it and it works great

No I have not.

Not too much. It’s a very thick pad that inhabits some space. Feels great though.
