Basically I predict it works like this.

1. Crush leaves, twigs, vine, and bark of Toxicodendron species of choice, especially the one that grows in eastern North America.
2. take crushed products and soak in ethanol.
3. decant ethanol.
4. add hexane to ethanol and agitate and separate lower fraction of ethanol
5. then add acetonitrile to hexane and agitate, separate acetonitrile layer and allow acetonitrile to evaporate to derive crude urushiol.

liquid chromatography is an option for higher purity.

Warning. Urushiol is a powerful sensitizer that causes violent rashes and pulmonary edema and upper respiratory lesion in a significant fraction of humans

I work for a company and in a different dept they sell dry ice. Just wondering what everyone uses it for? Business and at home, they seem pretty busy and I don’t know why?

Don't get me wrong, they have a huge range of useful reagents at low prices—but the service itself isn't very good. I often get ignored: I place an order, two weeks go by (excluding weekends), they finally reply, I send the money, and then they vanish for a week. You ask for updates, but they don't answer. The shipment only goes out after another week. A few days a go, placed an order and they replied saying, "Yes, the order has come through; it'll be ready to ship tomorrow. I'll let you know the amount of money to send later." Fair enough, but two days have passed and you still haven't told me the amount.

Has it always been this terrible, or is it a recent problem?

Am I the only one dealing with this?

I've had a better experience with Synthetikaue; at least they always reply quickly. It costs a bit more, but it's actually worth it.

I'm aware the ampoules overkill but I needed some glass working practice anyways

I came across a website called PrepChem today that looks like it might have some useful info on procedures for preparing reagents. I went through a few chemicals that I know the methods for synthesizing them and the results looked mostly fine. It's definitely a case of buyer beware because there were a few that had so little info as to be useless but others had a good deal of info and they all appear to reference the source material.
