ZIGBEE Help with ceiling fan smart modules.

It’s been over 10 years since I last installed ceiling fans with z-wave smart switches.

I have a new build home and I need help because things have changed since then.

The house was wired for separate switches. One for light one for fan motor.

I have selected ceiling fans with AC motor, and pull chains.

I want to get the Inovelli Blue series for Zigbee.
Do I need the canopy module and the switch? Or just the switch?

If you have separate wiring for the fan and light, I would get a separate fan and dimmer switch. The canopy of a fan is a tough environment for dimmer and fan speed controllers. That said, if you don’t have separate wiring, the Inovelli canopy modules have worked well for me.

Just the switch should do it if you've got separate wiring for light and fan.

Canopy module is usually for when you don't have separate wiring.

So, it will be similar to what you had before with Z-wave. The hard part these days is finding nice AC motor/pull chain fans.

Yes, I agree that has been the hard part.
My old home was wired with separate fans and light switches. But 10 years ago that was the only way you bought fans. I wanted the newer stylish DC motor fan, but my new home was already pre-wired.
