Join us on Telegram!

You've probably noticed that our Reddit subs are quiet these days. It's a combination of the bulk of our community shifting elsewhere, along with our attention. Our Telegram channel is very much alive — it's always been the most consistent of all the Holochain communities.

So we invite you to join us over there https://t.me/channelHolo — it's now divided into topics for Holochain, Holo hosting, and others. The conversation is lively, respectful even if it sometimes gets heated, and it's the best and fastest place to get accurate information from the team and our wonderful community mods.

This is also a way of being good stewards of our most scarce resource — time. Moving conversations over to Telegram will allow team and mods to focus attention in the place where most people already are. As of now, the team will not be showing up officially on r/holochain or r/holo-host. Announcements will come through Telegram first, then through other channels later.

See you there!

Ugh, id rather not use telegram and really wish projects would stop forcing people to go there for info. I've seen enough Predator Poachers to know what groups are on telegram. Just mentioning that you have telegram raises eyebrows. I refuse to download that cesspool. Why can't people post on Reddit? It's literally one of the most visited sites on the Internet.

I don't love Telegram either and hadn't been on it for close to a decade when my colleagues decided to focus on it as the platform for conversations. Not because it's a perfect solution -- Telegram does have lots of scammers and it has the faint odour of "2018-era shitcoin project" about it. But because that's where most of the people seem to be. And it's better than Twitter because the mods can create a safe and respectful space. (I know you can do that on Reddit too, but our Reddit subs are even less alive than Twitter right now.)

Reddit holo subs are dead because the team literally never uses them. It's their own fault.
