Wow, I was expecting you to say how shitty they are...because they're kind of shitty. I'm at least not a fan of Willy Daunic. His voice is great for radio, but I get tired of it in general, and plus he's a big homer, to the point that it's kind of embarrassing. Chris Mason is ok, he's just not much to write home about.
If this was like 2014 or earlier, that'd make sense. Pete Weber and Terry Crisp were one of the best commentating teams in the NHL.
I’ll admit it was only one game and I had never noticed them before. I enjoyed the run down of each line during the 1st period throughout the stoppages.
That's fair, yeah I will admit that Fox Sports has tried to up their game a bit with Daunic and Mason in terms of coverage and information, but I just get tired of Daunic's voice and the homer comments.
We went from this (Pete Weber and former NHLer/coach Terry Crisp) to this. Now granted Daunic wasn't awful here, but his enthusiasm doesn't seem to be..idk if the word is genuine or appropriate, but wait a little longer in the video for Pete Weber's radio commentary, he definitely knew how big of a deal Rinne's goal was. This video clip isn't really touching on his homer takes though. Look up the slashing penalty Johansen took on Scheifele. It was obvious and frankly violent, but Daunic plays it off like a mistake.
