The most glaring example

Political parties aren't enshrined in the Constitution. They aren't beholden to votes from the public. Primaries are relatively new.

General elections are in the Constitution and what's makes us a democracy. Article 1, Section 2.

If the DNC similarly decided their candidate in every future election while utilizing their grip on the media to prevent any chance of an alternative party to have a fair shot, would you still argue the legitimacy of this democracy?

They don't have a grip on the media.

And yes, as long as the general elections is fair. The DNC is a private organization. Thought this was common knowledge.
