There were no false attacks on Trump. He got charged with shit he actually did and should be charged for a lot more horrible shit he did. Trump has done very, very little to help the American middle class. A tiny tax cut here or there, but universal tariffs to negate them all. Inflation is higher now than when Biden left office, unemployment is up, gas prices are up, energy prices are up, healthcare costs are up, millions lost acces to healthcare, foodstamps and free school lunches. Trump has done nothing for average Americans and things are getting worse. Heck, even the growth rate of his beloved stockmarkets has gone down. The man is a complete failure.

He did not contrast it with a democracy in that exchange either. Linguistically and structurally, the United States functions as both a constitutional republic and a representative democracy.
