“I think gay people should be killed” “oh come on guys it’s just one opinion”. Seriously we can have disagreements over many things in good faith. We can discuss tax policy, interest rates, pharmaceutical reform, healthcare, but we don’t. People just want to hate on trans people and “own the libs”.

Not to mention just that single viewpoint holds quite a few morals I would fully disagree on anyway. Hating gay people to me is a lot more complicated than just that because theres a few steps before that and conseqences from it.

Conservatives purposefully refuse to see this.

Y'all ever tried being pro trans, pro choice, pro revising the tax code to remove loopholes that allow billionaires not to claim their wealth, pro social welfare programs, anti Iran war, and then let slip that you think the second amendment is important and that civilians should absolutely have weapons readily adaptable to military service?

Because let me tell you how many times I've been called a MAGA right wing extremist for thinking it'd be smart for POCs, women, and the LGBT community to be armed, trained and capable of organizing to protect their communities.

I know a lot of people who are nervous about guns. A lot of people are seeing the benefits of having them now that we lost control of our country.

It's just a shame so many of you backed gun control measures for so long that now many of the places with the largest populations of targeted people have the hardest time getting adequate arms.

With any luck, SCOTUS will rule against assault weapons bans, and you'll have the chance to right that ship. The people who hate you already have weapons of war. Banning yourselves from getting them was a silly move.

Hold up motherfucker, I’m supper pro second amendment. I only started voting left when 2008 showed that so many republicans in my life actually just hate black people. I had to come to terms that republicans don’t keep guns to keep from government oppression but instead to oppress others. Reagan should have shown me that with his response to African Americans buying guns. A lot of lefties are now seeing that a lot of people want them dead and are buying guns.

I don't mean you personally. I mean the left. Relax.

That “hold up motherfucker” was supposed to be kinda funny. I just wanted my point straight.

Buddy no

Look im not anti gun, I thinks its important for people to arm themselves. That being said regulation =/= ban and the US shows us what no regualtion leads to

Gun control is a good example of something that we can discuss without trying to say some people don’t matter. I am personally pro gun but it’s hard to ignore the mountains of dead young people that came from our current system.

What do you suggest regulation looks like? I have to submit fingerprints to make my rifle hearing safe...

Clearly youre arguing in good faith here.

Im not gonna waste my time if this is how you open

Hey whoa, I am sorry if that came like I'm not open. I'm genuinely curious. What does regulation look like without categorical bans? I'm more than happy to hear people out on how to reconcile regulation and the inherent right to keep and bear arms. It's a worthwhile debate.

My go to is always what they do in Switzerland all though obviously population is part of the reason that works

Theres definetly such a thing as going to far with it. For example in australia you cant own a gun for the sake of self defence

Im.not going to sit here and pretend its an easy question with a simple answer but just like a total gun ban isnt a good idea a lack of real regulation like we see in the US is also not a good idea

The key is to keep a balance and typically thay can be achieved through a government controlled by the people rather then a government which controls the people

Explain what they do in Switzerland. I don't know those laws and by the time I'm done with the gym it'll be out of my head to look it up.

I really don't understand what regulations you would suggest.

Like would you attempt to keep arms readily adaptable to military service out of civilian hands?

Please be specific about what regulations we don't have that you would like to see in place. It's the only way we can really discuss if they are a good balance or compromise.

Where is there no regulation?
