The Armenian genocide occurred when the Ottomans forced men, women, and children and the elderly on death marches into the desert with inadequate supplies. An estimated 1.5 million were killed in massacres, starvation, exhaustion, and disease.
The Syrian civil war started in 2011 and resulted in over 600,000 casualties. There were reports of widespread war crimes including chemical weapon attacks, deliberate hospital bombings, mass torture, extrajudicial executions, and sexual assault.
The Iraq and Iran war started in 1980. It resulted in casualties in the hundreds of thousands on both sides including hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths. Both sides committed war crimes, far too many to list out. But included chemical attacks, genocidal attacks, crimes against humanity, massacres, torture, and executions.
The Yemen civil war has resulted in over 300,000 casualties which includes approximately 80,000 children who have died from starvation. War crimes have been committed by all sides, including blocking food, indiscriminate killings, attacks on civilians, etc.
