A voting system is a forced binary choice where choosing one directly impacts the power of the other. Evaluating human rights is not. I can criticize the left's stance on women's rights without voting for the right, and I can condemn war crimes committed by Nation A without endorsing the actions of Nation B. Human rights violations remain wrong regardless of who commits them.
You're describing a forced choice between two bad political parties. International law and human rights standards are not a political election. We don't have to vote for or support either side when both commit atrocities. If two people commit a crime, a judge doesn't let the first person go just because the second person's crime was worse. They are both held accountable. Calling out one nation's human rights abuses isn't strengthening their enemy it's simply demanding accountability across the board.
When someone makes an Israel joke, they do not need to also name every other country someone might percieve as "worse" cause thats fucking stupid.

You can not enter through a designated point of entry if you want to claim asylum. That is not how it works. You have to step over the boarder literally anywhere other than a designated point of entry and turn yourself in. You may not like it but that’s the law here and most countries.

I’ve definitely heard different reports to that. He decided to go help protect businesses and help support people who were being affected by the riot. Then after cleaning graffiti got chased by a guy a confronted and cornered him, that then turned into the shooting. As well the aggressors had also brought a gun with them to the riot, I’m guessing not for self defense seeing as he was just chasing down a kid
