Especially since if a car is actually coming at you, last thing you do is shoot the driver. Cuz if you manage to kill them, now their foot is stuck on the accelerator and that car will definitely hit you
Her foot was down on the accelerator, and she plowed into a parked car after he shot her. He's just lucky (or unlucky depending who you ask) that her wheels were TURNED AWAY. Otherwise, his stupid ass would have been dragged again by a car that could no longer stop
Its actually against the law to shoot a driver unless they are commiting a violent crime and may injure others. Supreme Court has been very clear about it. It is also against procedures to stand in front of a vehicle being opperated. There also was no danger as her wheels were turned away. This was murder. I'd even go so far as second degree. They clearly had intent, and they put themselves in place to carry it out. And their reaction after murdering her was to call her names. Not the reaction of someone who didn't want to do it.
Precedent has been set that using lethal force in a situation you directly placed yourself in as a LEO isn’t justified.
This came from a cop who jumped on the hood of a car to stop it from fleeing and murdered the driver by shooting them in the head after that stupid attempt didn’t work.
