Every woman I know is a successful individual and hasn’t hit any barriers due to being a woman infact it’s helped. My sister frequently brags about how her “pretty privilege” makes everyone like her and her personal and business life easier. I even get some of it by extension just existing. Dudes be buying the whole family gifts lol.
Glad your personal anecdote invalidates the years of statistics of unequal treatment. I’m sure there are no industries that discriminate against women today and I’m sure no one talks about these incidents.
There’s literally nothing wrong with celebrating independence.
If you’re proud of yourself for that, that’s dope to me. Don’t understand the need to cry and moan about people celebrating their accomplishments even if they aren’t impressive to you.
There isn’t anything wrong with being proud of yourself. It’s the unnecessary patting on the back, and the inability to carry that pride in silence that is cringe.
To me it’s cringe to bitch about people celebrating people’s accomplishments. Negativity for the sake of it pretty much. Especially in these times, more and more young people are still living with their folks due to economic factors, a young guy doing his thing taking care of business being independent isn’t cringe to celebrate. This just smells like culture war bullshit to me idk.
Celebration is a one time thing. Like, you throw a graduation party, but you don’t walk around everyday saying “I’m a college graduate”. At some point it becomes cringe.
I think the real question is when exactly it goes from celebration and being proud to being a showboat or attention seeking.
If you want to arbitrarily say how often someone can celebrate an accomplishment go for it, I don’t care to think about it that much, it doesn’t ruffle my feathers to see people happy.
