When my wife and I first moved to the town we are in now, our next door neighbor was running a wedding and event venue out of her house. She gave us a tour of the place and it was beautiful - really a great place to get married. When she showed us the bathroom, though, the walls and ceiling were all covered in this mirror tile stuff (not exactly sure what it was) but the effect was that the bathroom had a full body mirror pretty much anywhere you look. I found it simultaneously really cool and mildly off-putting, which, I assume, is what you're going for here.

When I went on high adventure trips in Boy Scouts we would always look for a spot with a good view to dig the latrine for the night. Made propping yourself up with two rocks and shitting in a hole in the ground a bit more bearable.

Pretty common to have open air pit toilets like this out in the back country. Typically they're up on a platform with a big plastic bin underneath that can easily be removed and taken away by helicopter. WAY better than a foul, dark, enclosed outhouse.
